The first day is over, but not without a struggle. The prologue started with high speeds but ended soon with water plants in the propulsion system, reaching the Furia III took 15 minutes and after it was finally reached it took another 5 minutes to remove all derbies. The second time the ship was even harder to reach taking even more time. In the end we did not manage to reach the minimal required average speed of 10km/h. (un)fortunately we were not alone and the jury announced that all teams are allowed to retake the average speed test in the first stage tomorrow (blauwestad to groning).

A little anxious for the cold water at fist but we passed the swimming test! Just like most other teams. Next up: 11:45 sailing test, let’s hope most organic material has left the “Oldambtmeer”. First some relaxing. Click image for more pictures

After 20 minutes of fiddling around we have a internet connection for all our social media needs! The internet subscription (20Mb down / 2Mb up) is sponsored by Hertzinger - Leusden and the hardware by I-sat – Bolsward. We arrived just in time for the technical inspection, and passed all of them at once! After sealing the battery tomorrow we are ready for the race. The last beds are inflated and the internet dish is pointed, short said; base camp is ready!

The DONG Energy Solar Challenge is coming and we are in full optimization mode, testing testing and more testing. We did an endurance test of 20 km on rough water to simulate what we expect during the race in the open waters of Groningen.

Now that the DONG Energy Solar Challenge is coming we are busy working on multiple solarboats at the same time. We are very pleased with Bouwbedrijf Lont for sponsoring a big warehouse only 500 meters away from MG Electroics, this enables us to work faster and more efficient!

Due to the great response of our drone footage we multiplied our fleet by four, hopefully the quality of the footage will increase with the same ratio!
